ZORYBEL GARCIA (1985)

​

She is a circus and physical theater performer from Venezuela, passionate about performing arts. She's currently based in Switzerland.

​

In the beginning, my learning was practically self-taught, nurturing myself from many disciplines and knowledge that made me go beyond pure circus technique and more with the freedom of creativity and experiences with diferent backgrounds.

During 2003 and 2006 She was studying with different teachers from the Cuban National Circus School and Venezuelan contemporary dance teachers.

During 2006 and 2008 she traveled between Argentina and Chile to live her passion as a circus nomad with Microcirco company with them performed their street show at different festivals and circus conventions.

In 2010 she joined Geneva Circus School Théâtre Cirqule in Switzerland to pursue professional training where she began to investigate the movement in Aerial Rope and she discovers her own body language between gesture, visual arts, and theater, influenced by the philosophy, society, and the culture where she comes from.

​

In 2016 she traveled to India to learn Mallakhamb, an ancient sport with a rope and pole, as well as to do deep training and study in Ashtanga Yoga.

​

She has a Master degree in Arts of Theater, Specialization in Physical Theater and Applied Theatre Practice at Dimitri Theater Academy in Switzerland.

 

Zorybel is co-founder and artistic director of the "Manzanoarte" Foundation a Social Circus School and Social Festival of Performing Arts in Venezuela.
